'Essaouira' Islamic Geometric Style Earrings

Throughout many of the designs on my Etsy shop, you will notice a love - or an obsession - with geometric shapes. It's quite difficult to develop an interest in geometric patterns without stumbling upon The Golden Age of Islam - when some of the classic patterns we're all familiar with were developed. The designs were particularly pleasing to the eye and were considered a reflection of the order that can be found in divinity.

These earrings are a simple homage to those designs featuring a 6-fold design across as many lines of symmetry. They are cut from solid walnut, painted, and then finished with a selection of oils and varnish. This isn't a cheaper wood that has been stained - these have been made with top-end raw materials to make something that is beautiful throughout.
